Reserving a ticket during Covid-19

Flying during coronavirus is not easy, even if it is planning for a trip in the coming months. Any future is quite uncertain despite the arrival of the vaccine. 

Attention : in the event that you book tickets, you are in any event subject to the policies of the selected airlines. Depending on the company and if you are not careful with the precautions suggested above, you might find yourself subject to the strict conditions of airline companies - namely non-cancellable, non-refundable and modifiable tickets only with high fees -  You could lose all of your tickets if you couldn't leave, which would be a shame, and it is therefore better to avoid at all costs, by preparing well in advance.

Several strategies put in place, and possibly even complementary:

  1. Review airline policies carefully: For example, you will see that Air France allows in all to modify its travel dates (tariff difference remaining applicable), or quite simply to make a request to have if you can no longer or no longer want to leave for any departure before the end of March 2022. Selecting the company with a flex policy regarding modifications at least seems very wise these days.
  2. Select a round-trip with one airline company and not different companies in case of future modification or cancellation. This will make it a lot easier to not lose your tickets. 
  3. Select guarantee cancellation Ulysse Flex, in partnership with Koala, if you book through Ulysses: it will allow you to completely freely cancel your trip and be reimbursed 70% of the amount up to 2 days before flight departure (More info here)
  4. Take a specialized covid insurance on your flight: this insurance would cover your entire stay, namely your flights and any on-site reservations, in particular accommodation. We do not sell it on Ulysse as we only specialize in plane tickets, but if you book your tickets with us and then need advice on adding additional insurance, do not hesitate to write to us.
